New "Quiet" Work Space

Court Services has generously made the Jury Room next to Courtroom #1

available to our Members, for use as a “Quiet Work Space”

Something that has always been in short supply in our little library

This privilege comes with the following conditions:

  1. It is critical that this space remain a quiet workspace for counsel to work – not to converse with other counsel. It is directly beside courtroom #1 which when in use we can hear when people are conversing loudly in the room.

  2. The door into Courtroom #1 from the Jury room will be locked from inside the courtroom (except for days when certain courts are running where it will assist counsel to enter Courtroom #1 from that door). Otherwise, it will remain locked so that they are not walking through the courtroom to get to other areas of the building. If counsel are required in other areas of the building they will need to pass down the stairs through the law library and pass through judges chambers to get to the rest of the building.

  3. Keep a clean workspace – there are recycling bins and garbage bins in the Jury room.

  4. This space will not be available during Superior Court Jury sittings.
